3 1/2 down... and...
...we're done! Wow. Time fucking bended. It seems like we started shooting about 3 weeks ago, but it's barely been 3 days. We got Joe's last shot off just a couple hours before he needed to be on a United flight back to Chicago. We'll find out when we start editing whether or not we blundered & forgot something with him.
Today's stuff was fantastic. Since we never planned to shoot today, I had to drop $200 on sound equipment at Gear. But it was totally worth it to lay out the bucks (or at least let Visa lay out the bucks for now) for three wireless lavalier mics. We were able to burn thru the scenes so much faster than yesterday, when we needed to keep switching out lavs on our three actors. That saved our butts and let us get the two major dialogue scenes done in time. We shot in such a way that we couldn't ever drop those scenes. The movie would have made no sense. (Of course, you always tell yourself that in the directing/writing phase. It's only when you're editing that you know the truth)
We only ended up dropping 1 scene, and it was one that Megan urged me to drop for weeks. Gilbride knows. She just does.
Hey, so the video is pretty choppy, but if you want to see the podcast of my appearance last Sunday on the Austin Movie Show with Jegar & Leila, here it is. I say "Fuck" on the air like an rank amateur interviewee. Shouldn't I know that the FCC is watching?
